Authors
This site runs on two roles that do not overlap. One person researches foundation repair pricing and writes what you are reading now or on any guide page. The other sets the rules that writing has to follow, and stays out of the writing itself.

Jessica Martinez
Home-Improvement Cost Analyst. Jessica writes every guide on this site: what a repair method actually costs per pier or per crack, how contractor bids get padded or kept honest, and what a foundation problem is worth fixing before you sell the house. She is not a structural engineer, a geotechnical engineer, or a licensed foundation contractor, and nothing she writes replaces an in-person inspection by one. Her work is built from published contractor pricing surveys and installation cost data, turned into ranges a homeowner can actually use before calling anyone. She covers home-improvement and repair pricing across the Encore Editorial network of cost-guide sites, not just this one.

Chris Terry
Founder and Editor. Chris founded Foundation Repair Cost and the broader Encore Editorial network, and is responsible for the sourcing standards described on the editorial standards page. He does not write or byline the guides here; that is Jessica's work. His part is oversight: keeping the calculator's assumptions defensible, deciding how flagged errors get corrected, and making sure nothing on this site runs under a name that did not actually write it.
Why every guide carries the same byline
Jessica Martinez wrote every guide currently on this site, so her name is the byline on all of them. There is no house pen name and no invented review board standing behind the scenes. If this site adds a second writer, their name will show up here too, next to the pages they researched themselves. The full sourcing and correction process is on the editorial standards page.
